News - The latest about Diana’s engagements and recordings

This season Diana Damrau returns to The Met stage for a series of highly anticipated engagements. The first will highlight Ms. Damrau in her first Metropolitan Opera performances as Juliette in a sumptuous production of Gounod’s Roméo et Juliette, which opens on New Year’s Eve. Diana is joined by tenor Vittorio Grigolo as Roméo, on the heels of their thrilling portrayals in Massenet’s Manon last season, with Maestro Gianandrea Noseda leading from the pit. The production, staged by veteran director Bartlett Sher, has already been seen to great acclaim at the Teatro alla Scala and the Salzburg Festival.

Performances take place December 31 and January 4, 7, 10, 14, 17, 21 & 28; tickets for the New Year’s Eve Gala Events can be found via the following link. The January 21 broadcast will also receive a Live HD broadcast into cinemas worldwide. Visit The Met online to see a complete list of showtimes and locations.
