Role debut as the Countess Almaviva in La Scala’s new production of ‘Le nozze di Figaro’

Diana Damrau debuts as Countess Almaviva in Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro, this autumn at the Teatro alla Scala. Ms. Damrau and her colleagues will star in a new production commissioned in honor of the 225th anniversary of Mozart’s death, which will be staged by Frederic Wake-Walker with musical direction by Franz Welser-Möst. Carlos Álvarez and Simon Keenlyside alternate in the role of Count Almaviva, with Markus Werba as Figaro, and Golda Schultz as Susanna. Performances take place October 26 & 29 and November 8, 10, 16, 19, 24 & 27.
