January concerts

Due to illness, Ms Damrau has withdrawn from the Berlin performances.

Diana Damrau starts her 2023 performances in Berlin, where she’ll sing the final scene from Richard Strauss’ “Capriccio” and three of his Lieder with an orchestral accompaniment: Ständchen op. 17/2, Wiegenlied op. 41/1 and Morgen op. 27/4. The Staatskapelle Berlin, led by Cristian Măcelaru, will also perform Bartók’s “The Wooden Prince” in the second part of the program. The two concerts will take place on January 9 and 10.

She will then travel to Naples to sing the soprano solo in Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 at Teatro Politeama on January 20 and 22. The other soloists will be Edna Prochnik, Bernard Richter and Ludovic Tézier, with Dan Ettinger on the podium.
