On March 30 and March 31 Ms Damrau revisits the role of Countess Madeleine, singing the final scene of Richard Strauss’ Capriccio. With Cristian Măcelaru on the podium, she will perform at Théâtre des Champs-Elysées and the Théâtre Impérial de Compiègne. The full program also features two of the most beautiful orchestral pieces in the repertoire: The Tombeau resplendissant by Messiaen and Tchaikovsky’s Symphonie pathétique.

Her next performances take her to Baden-Baden, where she will sing Strauss’ Vier letzte Lieder on April 7 and 10. Kirill Petrenko will lead the Berliner Philharmoniker and complete the second half of the evening with Strauss’ Ein Heldenleben.
