Diana Damrau returns to the La Scala stage in the title role of Donizetti’s dramatic tragedy Lucia di Lammermoor, May 28 & 31 and June 3, 5, 8 & 11. Ms. Damrau sings alongside a formidable cast, including Vittorio Grigolo as Edgardo and Gabriele Viviani as Enrico, with Stefano Ranzani leading the Orchestra and Chorus of the Teatro Alla Scala in a classic production from the Met. This is a signature role for Ms. Damrau, with past performances receiving critical acclaim: “. . . a fabulous Lucia, mastering the coloratura as well as all of the famous high notes while acting out Lucia’s mood swings with enormous integrity . . .” (Opera News). She is also featured as Lucia on a recently released album of the work, recorded live in Munich.

While in Milan, Diana will also make a special appearance at the Megastore Piazza Duomo at 6pm on May 29, to sign copies of her latest album Fiamma del Belcanto.
