Die Fledermaus in Vienna and Munich

To bring the year to a spectacular close, Diana Damrau will once again star as Rosalinde in Otto Schenk’s beloved production of Die Fledermaus at the Wiener Staatsoper. The performances take place on New Year’s Eve, January 3 and 6. She will share the stage with her friend and habitual colleague Jonas Kaufmann as Gabriel von Eisenstein, and with Jochen Schmeckenbecher as Frank, Daria Sushkova as Prinz Orlofsky, Jörg Schneider as Alfred, Adrian Eröd as Dr Falke, Lukas Schmidt as Dr Blind, Ilia Staple as Adele, and Hannah-Theres Weigl as Ida. Markus Poschner conducts.
She will afterwards return to Munich on January 10 to reprise the Barrie Kosky production with Nicholas Carter at the helm. The cast will feature Rolando Villazón as Eisenstein, Martin Winkler as Frank, John Holiday as Prinz Orlofsky, Pavol Breslik as Alfred, Konstantin Krimmel as Dr Falke, Kevin Conners as Dr Blind, Mirjam Mesak as Adele, and Miriam Neumaier as Ida.
