Am 02.August 2010 lud der Verein Faszination Regenwald e.V. zur „Ersten Günzburger Regenwald-Nacht“ ein. Das Forum am Hofgarten in Günzburg war ausverkauft. Der aus Günzburg stammende internationale Opernstar Diana Damrau ließ es sich nicht nehmen, trotz hoher Schwangerschaft, für den ‘Regenwald’ aufzutreten. Der bekannte Schauspieler Michael Mendl, der sich seit Jahren für die Erhaltung des Regenwaldes stark macht, liest aus seinem beeindruckenden Regenwald-Tagebuch. Dr. Bernhard Lohr, der Biologe und Regenwaldforscher machte wiederholt deutlich, wie wichtig der Erhalt der Regenwälder für das Ökosystem Erde ist. “Allein schon sein Einfluss auf das Weltklima wäre ein Grund, sich um den Schutz des Regenwaldes zu bemühen”!

Diana Damrau headlined a fundraising gala in Frankfurt Cathedral in support of the city’s “Städel” Museum. Organized by Katherine Fürstenberg – Raettig, she performed with the Frankfurt Opera Orchestra under the baton of Andrea Marcon. The revenue was: 500,000,-Euro donations. More info (in German)/a>
