News - The latest about Diana’s engagements and recordings

Diana Damrau returns to the Opernhaus Zürich next month to make her much awaited debut as the title role of Donizetti’s Anna Bolena, the second of Donizetti’s Tudor queens trilogy to take the stage in Zurich, following the 2018 production of Maria Stuarda, in which Ms. Damrau also portrayed the queen (“Damrau was musically and dramatically magnificent… her limpid soft singing and seemingly limitless breath control were extraordinary.” – Operawire).

At her side is Luca Pisaroni as King Henry VIII and Karine Deshayes as Anne’s rival, Jane Seymour. The production is in the hands of American stage director David Alden, and Enrique Mazzolla, a noted expert in Italian bel canto repertoire, is once again at the podium of the Philharmonia Zürich. The performances take place from December 5 until January 13.
