Just in time for the Christmas season, this digital Christmas EP presents three tracks from an album recorded by the stunning soprano Diana Damrau with the dynamic conductor Riccardo Minasi and the NDR Radiophilharmonie. The full Christmas album will be released in autumn 2022.
Until then, this EP collects César Franck’s soaring but fervent “Panis Angelicus”, an aria from Bach’s Christmas Oratorio – the lovely “Flößt mein Heiland” with its delightful echo effects – and the rollicking “Erwach, frohlocke, o Tochter von Zion” (“Rejoice greatly” in the English original) from Handel’s Messiah. Stream now on IDAGIO!
